Research Monographs in French Studies
Legenda book series
| Research Monographs in French Studies are selected, edited and supported by the Society for French Studies. The series seeks to publish the best new work in all areas of the literature, language, thought, history, politics, culture and film of the French-speaking world and to cover the full chronological range from the medieval period to the present day. Proposals are accepted for monographs of up to 85,000 words, while proposals for ‘short’ monographs (50,000–60,000 words), a traditional strength of the series, are still welcomed. Proposals. RMFS books must be written in English, with quotations from primary sources given in French and, normally, accompanied by an English translation. They should be sent with one or two sample chapters for consideration to the General Editor, Professor Tom Baldwin, at (t.baldwin@sheffield.ac.uk). All members of the Editorial Committee read all proposals and sample material. Examiners’ reports are sought in the case of proposals based on doctoral theses. We aim to respond to proposals with a decision and written feedback within two to three months. Subvention. Authors in this series are not required to raise any subsidy or subvention, but are responsible in the usual way if any rights fees arise from illustrations or other copyright material included. History. RMFS was Legenda's first named series, and was founded in 1996. Under the general editorships of Michael Moriarty (1996-2005), Ann Jefferson (2005-12), Diana Knight (2012-22) and now Tom Baldwin (2022-), RMFS has grown to over 70 titles. Editorial Committee
